ORIGINAL YOUTUBE DESCRIPTION: This show will feature Joy Lynch and Oba T’Shaka in a discussion on how African culture inspired Black Secret Societies to build a Black economy in the 19th century, and what Blacks can learn from this & the numerous Black Wall Streets to build, support and defend Black businesses today.

FIRST THOUGHT OF THE EPISODE IDEA: This is the follow up interview to June 14^th’s Episode #182 Financial Literacy interview. Unlike the first conversation, this one is structured into three sections; the first section is the often utilized though not often enough “Headlines” commentary where Dr. T’Shaka dissects up to three news stories that are of interest to Pan-Africanists; the second section offers some amazing insights into the model which built Greenwood’s famous district in Tulsa, Oklahoma and the third section is the actual interview and conversation between Dr. T’Shaka and Joy Lynch. These three sections fit wonderfully together as each, in there own way, speaks to the broader themes alluded to in this week’s title.

The primary focus in this week’s episode is on the microeconomic plan necessary to start a business. Since businesses are a key component to building an economic foundation, this simple information is required knowledge in preparing a collective plan for economic prosperity. To lend credibility to this information; the second section, which is filled with information about the Greenwood district, paints a picture of an sustainable economic community plan that prospered because of and despite the harsh realities built by Apartheid Segregation in the United States. Why this picture is important isn’t discussed in the episode outright, but Dr. T’Shaka has spoken about it in previous shows. What has been done before can be done again; thus by studying what was done before you can literally make the past serve the present. This ultimately is the underlying theme for the episode.
