I probably should have wrote this months ago, but I wasn’t as sure of what its content would be as I am today, so I’m writing it now.
The first goal of the Dr. Oba T’Shaka Show Archive (thedotsarchive) is to catalogue the lectures and interviews conducted by Sba Dr. Oba T’Shaka on his youtube channel, as well as those interviews he has taken part in on other social media platforms since his channels creation. In a perfect world, I’d be able to find, catalogue and have uploaded to his channel, the dozens – maybe even hundreds of speeches, interviews, talks, conversations and classes that surely exist all over the world of Dr. T’Shaka prior to his foray into this digital space, but alas I do have access to those items so I cannot do that as of this statements writing. That stated though, if you do have recordings of Dr. T’Shaka you are willing to share with his youtube channel, please reach out to us via the contact page, I promise someone will get back to you promptly.
The second goal of the Dr. Oba T’Shaka Show Archive is to offer an easy to navigate archival list for those interested in his channel to use to locate and watch interviews or lectures previously recorded and livestreamed to said channel. This goal has been easily met by using the simple archival listing system you will find in the tap labeled “Complete Archive”. For ease of access I have also included a separate list of Dr. Oba T’Shaka appearances prior to his channel’s launching on the right side of the home page.
The third and final goal of the Dr. Oba T’Shaka Show Archives is to offer an analysis for each item in the listing as well as content analysis for his work on the channel. At its inception and initial launch this last goal was the one most fraught by me, in fact the second half of the goal wasn’t even a part in my plans for the website. Initially I was going to treat the blog much like I did Twitter before the Elongated Muskrat blew it up. You can see this strategy clearly in the first few months of my publishing to it. But that proved unsustainable and altogether unbecoming of an archival list site. It was unsustainable because the internet did not treat the content posted there like Twitter, nor did the posts fit into sit right with the overall feel of the website, which seemed to cry out for more serious attention then my earlier posts demonstrated. After some contemplation about the sites direction I decided on this secondary plan to not only shine light on the vast treasure trove hidden amongst the hundreds of hours of content listed there but also to fulfill a desire Dr. T’Shaka wished to encourage, for those who loved his work to engage in the sacred satisfying art of reading.
“To Lead you must Read” could be the motto of this site, just as “To Make the Past Serve the Present” could be the motto of Dr. T’Shaka’s youtube channel. Reading is a lost art form for all too many, I hope the content here sparks many new readers and fills the needs of those long time readers desirous of new material to read every day (or whenever I can post). I hope deep thought is sparked by the content here and that ultimately you feel encouraged or even motivated to contribute to the conversations that may start here.
