FIRST THOUGHTS OF THE EPISODE IDEA: There is an idea most people are familiar with, it’s called perfect timing. This weeks livestream episode, pulled from the archival depths, qualifies as being recorded and then rebroadcasted at the most perfect timing. Originally recorded days before Kwanzaa 2020 and thus about three weeks before the infamous “Capital Riot” on January 6th; its replay now makes its original recording date seem prophetic. Who could have guest that four years and three months later the state in which this country would be found, would not only be worsening then it was back in those COVID wracked days, but the damaged being carried out by the now re-elected Donald Trump, is likely to exceed the damaged exacted during his first term resulting in street protests and individual actions demonstrating massive disapproval to Trump and his Commander in Chief Musk.

With this as its backdrop, this hidden gem is presented not as a call to arms, as the title might convince some on lookers; but, as a less than carefully constructed conversation between two friends who happened to have an activist history. This is the strength in this episode, it is very personal and yet very revealing. Mixed into the stories about memories come and gone, are instructions and lessons as important (or maybe even more so) than any military handbook. In light of the needs presented by this moment, these instructions should be consulted regularly, as should Dr. T’Shaka’s book “The Art of Leadership”. For activist and revolutionary novice, this may now be the right episode for you; but for Black Power Activists, community organizers and those hoping to rise to the challenge of this moment; this was made for you.
