The Dr. Oba T’Shaka youtube channel launched in October 2020, less than a month before the U.S national elections; for this reason many of the early episodes dealt exclusively with lead up to and the subsequent aftermath of those elections. With the rise of a certain countermovement prior to the election, a countermovement adept at spreading misinfoormation online, and its moves to spread its venom more perniciously in 2021 and beyond; misinformation crafted to drive wedges into the black electorate leading up to the 2022 and 2024 elections; Dr. T’Shaka could not and thus did not leave the topic of politics to rest. He has used the theme constantly throughout the life of his channel to help form the way we Black Afrikan-American’s think on the subject.
